Is Vegan Dairy Free?

Dear friends! I’ve been thinking about making the switch to a vegan lifestyle, but I’m a bit confused about something. Is being vegan the same thing as being dairy-free? I know that vegans don’t eat meat or animal products, but does that include dairy too? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!
