Are Pop Tarts Vegan?

I was just reading the ingredients on a package of pop tarts and noticed that they list “soy”. I am wondering if it is possible to be vegan and eat these tarts?

This is a tough question because often the ingredients really depend on the flavor of Pop-Tarts.

    The short answer is “No.”

The Pop-Tart company manufactures the product in facilities that are not vegan-friendly. As a result, even though the filling is free of animal products, there are still other ingredients in the crusts that could be derived from animals. Ingredients like gelatin, which comes from collagen sourced from animals’ bones and connective tissues, require clarification before being considered vegan-safe.

In my opinion, as soon as vegans invented themselves, they immediately invented “soy” for themselves, so there is nothing wrong with having “soy” in a vegan product. So feel free to eat pop-tarts products because the “soy” in them acts as a substitute for animal fat.
